It was many years ago when I was exploring some of the hills and woods of the high country in Arizona.

I found this spot - it was so beautiful. There was a place to pull the car in as the road was used on occasion, though rarely, and every once in a while the gate was open and you could traverse the area.

I got out of my car and breathed in the fresh air and the fragrance of the forest. A few pickup trucks rolled by slowly and people waved a friendly greeting. Of course I waved back. There was a good feeling in the air - a sense of cheerfulness.

And then I found myself alone. It was later in the day but there was still plenty of light. Unexpectedly the forest suddenly became quiet. I was surprised because there were birds and other animals that had been making noises and rustling around in the leaves and pine needles as they often are but then - it got quiet.

There wasn't a sense of foreboding with the quiet though. It was rather a sense of expectation. I remember moving slowly as one might move when you're not sure what's going to happen.

And then I saw something - a flash of motion out of the corner of my eye. I very slowly turned to the left and I saw this incredible sight.

It was… I have to say a spirit. She was green - and so very happy. She was as tall as the trees. She must have been 150 feet tall at the least and she was twirling around in her joy. She had long hair. Her dress was long and flowing with her. She was so happy she radiated happiness. Such a beautiful sight. I could see her for a few seconds and then I didn't see her any more.

There was quiet after I saw her twirling in her happiness and then slowly the sounds of the forest returned with the birds twittering and the sounds of their wings when they were flying and the little sounds in the forest. Off in the distance I saw a deer that I hadn't seen before and the deer nodded at me the way they do in that friendly sense when they feel safe and I nodded back at the deer for our shared experience of seeing the Spirit Of Life.

The Purple Man

An eyewitness to Zoosh, one of the Beings I've channeled for years, described what he saw during a channeling I presented in Grand Junction, Colorado many years ago. This is so very important.

As you know it's very easy to fall into a cynical way of being. While this does protect a person in their thoughts, though not really in their feelings, from being disappointed it ultimately just wraps into itself and becomes a reason to be angry and even more disappointed or worse.

So remember and keep it as a watchword to acknowledge, to recognize, to appreciate, to value and to mention it to people how much you care about them and that they are of value.

Goodlife.

Changes In How I Post

For a long time now I've been sharing the wisdom I have with you in print here on these blogs and even stories on the stories blog but now I find as I get older I'm going to have to do this in a way that's easier for me and doesn't tire me out quite so much eh :-) so I'm going to shift over completely to video which I've been planing for a long time.

You'll still see video on Explorer Race as you have been so that won't change very much and you'll still see that also on my You Tube BenevolentMagic site so that won't change either but as far as all the transcribed material, that which I have written and posted through the usual process but instead of thinking and typing I've recorded it and transcribed it and posted just in case you're interested, that's all got to stop now because it's too much for one person to do.

Anyway I'm just letting you know. Feel free to consult with these blogs. I may still post, from time to time a video on these blogs here or there so you can watch for that but I'm afraid you're going to have to say goodbye to the print version. Maybe you won't miss it that much.

When I put up video these days it will mostly be Grandfather channeling through me but who knows...maybe there will be other things too.

I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed interacting with all of you and it's not totally goodbye but it will be different. So, just to let you know. I love you all. Goodnight and goodlife.

Why I'm In Hawaii

In the course of my travels, moving around from here to there on the basis of where I'm needed and where I'm called, I lived for quite a while in Sedona, Arizona.

This is a place where there are many intersections of different worlds. A friend of mine even started a company that she calls Crossing Worlds because the term has to do not only with the interlacing of different cultures but also because Sedona and the whole southwest United States in many places has been touched by the mystical, the mysterious and from my point of view - the natural, having to do with a strong representation, hosting and welcoming of the natural world.

The natural world itself goes beyond the boundaries of what mankind can state, "This is the truth." It goes beyond the "laws of science" and it incorporates all the real and all the not always welcome factual experience. Many people say - I've seen this, I've done that - and those who do not believe say, "Oh..." dismissively and many other things of derision.

I've been in Sedona, I've lived there, I've lived in other places in the general area of a radius out for a few hundred miles and I can say that the mysterious and the natural lives there.

In light of that I'd like to speak now of an experience I had there and I think you might enjoy hearing about it.

It's quite a few years ago now but I remember it clearly how it came to be that I moved to Hawaii. At the time I was living in Sedona, Arizona and I was planning to move to Flagstaff but I hadn't really gotten the motivation completely, just the impetus.

One day when football playoffs were on, I remember I got up early to see them and I was bustling around getting ready. I turned the TV set on and I could hear it in the other room while I was getting dressed.

I heard the announcers and they were talking about this player and that player and the games that were coming up and I was only listening with half an ear, you know the way you do when you're getting ready to get dressed and this and that but by the time I was ready to come in and sit down and relax and watch the two games that were going to be on that day I happened to glance at the television and - what was that!

I could hear the announcers talking but there was all this print on the screen. The screen looked a lot like a computer screen. There was a very light blue thin band across the top like a menu bar and something written there and it was kind of a lighter color and then below that the background was very light and there was all this print slowly scrolling up, it was outlined and even lighter, as if you were looking at a computer - reading something and scrolling. There was no indentation for sentences or punctuation, just one word after another filling the screen.

I couldn't figure out what - what is that? I called the cable company and asked - what is that? They were at a complete loss since they did not have it on their screens. They didn't know what it was. They said they'd check their circuits or what have you but it was Sunday and I wasn't holding my breath that they would be able to send somebody out immediately.

I also recall that I got up and went out and walked around the house to make sure that all the incoming electronics and cables to the house were alright. They looked okay.

Still I was kind of disappointed and could hear the announcers and I thought, "Oh well, it's going to be like a radio game." Have you ever been driving across the country and listen to a game on the radio? It's not too bad. I used to listen to them on the radio when I was a lot younger - but I was still kind of disappointed.

And so I thought, "Well this is really kind of weird." And you see I had set up the video cassette recorder, the VCR, to record the games but I decided I'd get up early and I'd rather watch them. Still I figured, "Well it's recording. I don't know what all this print says but it's recording and I suppose I can read it later if I want to" and all the time the print keeps scrolling up.

So I'm sitting there and I'm thinking, "Well, you know it's recording. I could do anything else. I think I got started fooling around in the kitchen making some breakfast and I came back in and looked at it and I thought, "Hey I know what I'll do..." You know - you get these ideas with electronics don't we..."

"I'll turn the TV set off and I'll turn it back on and maybe it'll be better." ;-) Kind of like kicking the tires on a car right, as if that helped. So I pick up the remote control and I have my thumb poised over the off switch and just before I'm going to press the off switch the screen changes and it changes color a bit.

It goes all gray and a little snowy and then the snowiness stopped and it was just a light gray color. I'm thinking, "What's this then?" And then in floated, and I could only say floated because it was moving in a buoyant and very slightly bouncy way, these very big letters. They took up fully one third of the screen coming in in the center and they sort of moved up and down just a little bit - that's why I'm saying floated.

In floated the word from the left to the right until it was perfectly centered in the middle of the screen and it stopped. And the word said - Faeries. F-a-e-r-i-e-s.

I thought, "Wow!" The first thing I thought was, "Wow!" I quickly called the cable company and told them to forget it and not to worry about it and they said, "Okay" because I figured, "Well, this is a spiritual experience."

And all the while I can hear the announcers chatting away about the game that's coming up. So I turned that down a little bit because I didn't really want to hear them talking and I thought, "Wow, I hope that all that print that went by before was all about faeries. I wish I had read it" but then I'm thinking to myself, "Wait a minute, wait a minute. The VCR is recording this. This is going to be great! Later on I can read all this stuff and it's going to be all about faeries. Wow that's awesome!"

So I'm waiting and it just says - Faeries - and it stays like that. I thought to myself, "Well - what does this mean?" Being a Channel naturally I went into the other room - with the full and complete confidence that all of this was being recorded and I could have this as a keepsake and I thought, "Wow, this is great" - I go into the other room and sit down on the bed and I ask, at that time I was channeling Speaks Of Many Truths* quite a bit and I ask, "Speaks Of Many Truths, what does this mean? Is it a message for me? It must be."

Normally when I ask these questions I usually say, "And tell me anything else I need to know right now too." Like that as Channels often do for themselves. I then proceeded to receive the shortest channeling I've ever received for myself. It lasted not even a minute.

Speaks Of Many Truths came in and said, "You know Robby, it's not that complicated. The Faeries want you to go over to Hawaii and they want you to help them out. There's a youngster there that needs some help and they'd like you to go over to Hawaii and help them and while you're there look around a little bit and see how you like it because it would be good if you moved there."

That was it. That was all there was to it. It was maybe thirty seconds if anything and I came out of it after that. It was like, "Gosh! Move to Hawaii! I'd lived on the continental US my whole life. I couldn't imagine going to Hawaii. I had been to Hawaii once before and I had had quite a mystical experience there^ but I couldn't imagine moving there.

So I go back in the other room and the screen is blank. The word Faeries isn't on there any more and it's just that light gray screen. So I thought, "Well the least I can do is read about all that stuff. I can't wait to read that!"

So I stop the VCR and I rewound it all the way to the beginning. I played back the tape and it was the game. How about that.

Well I fulfilled what the faeries wanted me to do. I went over to Hawaii and a friend of mine drove me around kindly because he was living there and moved there sometime before and he drove me to this place and that place. Just places that I felt on a map needed some attention.

I did some energy work, helped some spirits to move on, did some prayer blessings - all kinds of different benevolent shamanic practices and then thanking my friend I flew back to Oahu, felt out the energy there and thought to myself, "Am I really going to move here?"

All I can say to you is that was about 10 years ago and I've been here for quite a while now. Goodlife.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Speaks Of Many Truths is a Native American mystical man who lived about 400 years ago and speaks through me to teach, to remind, to support and to pass on wisdom. For example see Shamanic Secrets for Material Mastery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
^ Meeting With A Mystical Woman:

On a return trip from a short vacation to Hawaii once, I was on a plane getting settled as were many others and there was still boarding going on. I was in a bulkhead seat so there was no other rows in front of me.

The two passengers directly to my left were an older lady and a younger woman. The older lady asked me how I had enjoyed my trip to Hawaii. This was the first thing she said to me. I hadn't said anything to her other than nodding and smiling. And I said, "It was okay" and she said, "Ah."

She said, "Would you mind if I just..." and she got down in front of me - she was very short and small - she got down in front of me.

I didn't say anything because I believed this was something that might be spiritual but I wasn't sure. She hunkered down in front of me and she reached up towards me with her right hand outstretched and the next thing I remember was an announcement and the announcement over the speakers in the plane said, "Would you please return your tray tables and seat backs to their upright position."

And I realized my eyes were closed and I opened my eyes and the plane was in the air. When the lady had introduced herself - meaning spoken to me the plane was still at the gate, hadn't even taxied yet, so I was very confused for a moment. I couldn't understand what had happened.

The plane was quite obviously on the glide path the way it is and I realized that somehow I had been in what I can only describe as a meditative state. I couldn't remember anything else. A meditative state for 5 hours because the plane landed in about 20 to 25 minutes and that's how long the flight was.

I recall that the lady said only one other thing to me before she stretched her arm out. She said, "You'll be back."

It's Alright To Be

It's alright to have personality and be spiritual. Sometimes one finds that this is natural, other times you find that you feel pressured to be the spiritual person all the time from this person or that group. Don't give in to it, okay? It's alright to do your work. It's alright to be spiritual. It's alright to be spiritual a lot and it's also alright to have your personality.

This is particularly important advice and guidance for people who are channeling even if that's only part of your work as in my case.

There's a lot of subtle pressure to be the spiritual person all the time in every way but it's really important to allow yourself to just be. After all you're hardly in a position to be encouraging others to be their natural selves and to try to be natural in the natural world and all the other things that you'll get as advice that you emanate or pass through you whether you be in this work or some other kind - all of that is very good but it's really important to also be yourself - okay?

Now whoever yourself is is going to change over time and over the years so remind people from time to time that when you're being yourself that yourself is going to change from time to time just like it does with them.

Let them know that, as the famous saying goes, you put you pants on one leg at a time just like everybody else - or you put your skirt on just like everybody else. The important thing is if you're going to be spiritual, if you're going to do this work, if you're going to do any kind of work that calls upon you to be something that people ask, that people come to, that people inquire about - in short that is a path of life - that doesn't mean you can't have you, you can't be you and you can't enjoy your personality and let others enjoy it.

Of course it'll be infused with your work but they'll be other times when you just want to be yourself. It's okay. Okay? It's okay.

Goodlife.

Pathways

I was just listening to Windmills of Your Mind on You Tube and it really reminded me of a poem I wrote years and years ago called Wheels Within Wheels.

I don't know where it is now. I wrote it on the back of a small brown paper bag that held popcorn. This was on an occasion when I was on a lunch break from jury duty in California.

I remember that I was initially happy to get away from work (a civil service job) and go on jury duty because I thought, "Well, this might be interesting." And also on the opposite side of that, "I hope I don't get any gruesome cases or have to make any life and death decisions." Something all jurors have to face unfortunately - but it was significant in other ways to me.

I know I've written about this before but I don't remember where so...if you run across it then I'm fleshing it out a bit more here.

I remember that I brought one book only to look at not realizing that much of jury duty is spent just sitting in the jury pool waiting to be called to be interviewed, or impaneled as they call it, for participation in a trial.

I could only look at this book from time to time because it's one of those books that make you think. It was a book about philosophy - stimulating thoughts and as such I had to stop and read and then stop and then read.

I think it was then from reading that book plus my exposure to the jury trial system and realizing the life changing impact that it had on people as well as my lunch break when being visited by a blue jay who kept me company sometimes in the park nearby while I shared popcorn from the small bag with blue jay and then writing the poem, something I only did in those days when I was profoundly inspired, that I realized that I wouldn't be going back for long to that civil service job. I had to be more involved in something that had greater meaning.

For the next few years I started reading other books and delving into deeper thoughts and considerations. It wasn't too long after that that I found my path in life. You never know what little or big thing might open a door that could reveal a more beneficial pathway in life. Goodlife.

An Unexpected Friend

Friends. It became very clear to me recently how we all need friends. It's good to have friends on the Internet, I enjoy them. I know you do too but it became clear to me how important it is to have friends nearby - friends you see, friends you call, friends who call you.

Recently someone I didn't know, a neighbor, someone who lived in the same building I live in came calling by accident. She was in the middle of a medical crisis.

I helped her, I did what I could. I'm not a medical person but with the help of others who work here in the building and came to help her and the fire department and the paramedics she felt better.

While we were waiting though for everyone to come and help her I was very conscious of how we were in that moment friends. It's as if we'd known each other our whole lifetime because she was speaking about many things, sometimes all at once the way we do when we're frightened and upset and the sound of our own voice is reassuring.

Now and then she'd pause and I'd tell her how happy I was that she came to see me because where I live you see, there's not that many people at home but she just happened to come at a time when I was there and being in desperate straits as she was it was a gift. And I don't just mean that I was a gift for her because I was there for her, it was a gift for me because she reminded me how important friends are and how important people are even when you haven't met - to be friendly, to be supportive and to do what you can.

Call a friend this weekend. If it's someone that likes you just the way you are and someone that you like just the way they are that's even better but if you don't know anybody like that then call someone you do know just to remind yourself you have friends.

Do you forget about that sometimes? It's easy to forget about that isn't it. And if a friend calls even if they just want to talk and they want you to listen it's alright because we're really meant, very often aren't we, to be lights in the night, islands at sea and all the other metaphors which are so true at times when they are a matter of life and death and at other times as well.

Forgive me for being reflective but it came very clear to me that this ladies visit reminded me to call friends which I did do and family and I called my sister.

Think about doing that yourself. It's not just because you'll never know when you'll need them, it's also because you never know when they'll need you and it might remind you of something you need, want or value.

Goodlife to you all and goodnight.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Photo is © B. It was an unusual trip. On the way we went through a thunder storm. Lightening - a lot of bouncing around but others have had this experience.

As we got closer to the airport we started coming in on the glide path as always and because it was stormy there I think they made us go around once but then coming back coming in on the glide path closer and closer to the ground the plane had just touched down when all of a sudden, and I didn't know a full sized commercial jet could do this, it took off like a rocket even though it was just settling down on the wheels the way they do.

It literally took off like a rocket almost straight up in the air and did a partial snap roll. All I know is that the plane turned so sharply that the right wing was pointed straight down and all the passengers got a little closer to each other there for a moment. Needless to say it was so quiet you could of heard a pin drop in there though I did hear a few prayers but the plane leveled off and did another long slow turn around the airport - maybe for 20 minutes.

There was no sound. Nobody said anything from the pilots area and the cabin crew was quiet as well and it was quiet in the cabin - very quiet.

Then the pilot came on and while he was announcing that we would be going in again and that he was sure that we'd have a good safe landing I could hear somebody else up there in the cockpit, using plenty of expletive deleted words while at the same time obviously trying to control himself, blaming somebody.

It turns out, I found out later, that there had been a snafu - a mix-up by ground personnel - I don't know who and our plane had been guided to land but because the pilots were alert they could see that if we had continued with our landing we would have run right smack into another plane.

I'm bringing this to your attention not because I want to offer you the thrill of the day but rather because I want to compliment the pilots of this airline. I'm not going to mention the name of the airline, I'm just going to say that it was one of my favorites and I just want to compliment pilots everywhere for their vigilance, for their ability and for how many lives they save which very often is never in the press but I think it happens every day.

Thank you commercial pilots and other pilots for doing such a wonderful job.

Goodlife to you all.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Photo is © B. I had loved the new bike he got and while I couldn't get one quite as big or quite as fast I did buy the same brand.

It was very smooth running though it had a flaw. It was underpowered in the battery charging system and therefore I had to kick-start it to get it going but I kind of liked that because it reminded me of older times when I was very young and used to admire the older boys and men kick-starting their Harley's. I couldn't buy a Harley but I think maybe I thought it sort of reminded me of those days.

One day I was out riding with my friend. He was trying to show me how to ride on a mountain road - I lived near the mountains in those days in California. My friend was very good at it. Even though his bike was big he was athletic and was able to throw his bike around the turns, as he used to say.

I tried to do that but I wasn't very good at it and I came into a turn too fast. Well I don't have to tell you do I. I couldn't make the turn. I slid off into the dirt and it was one of those long slides that seem to happen in slow-motion where the last thoughts you have is - this is it - because I could see at the end of that dirt the cliff just fell off and I didn't know how far.

I thought to myself, "That's it - the end" but suddenly I hit something. I don't know what it was to this day because there was absolutely nothing but slightly sloped ground to the cliff on the pathway where I was sliding and I was flying - airborne.

Up and over and beyond. It seemed like forever and just like they say in books and the movies - my whole life flashed before my eyes in a second or two. It really does happen.

The next thing I knew I hit the ground with a mighty thump. I remember rolling and then there was another bigger thump on my head. Fortunately I had a new helmet which I appreciate to this day. It was a Bell helmet. I don't know if they're still in business but I have to say without any reason to promote them other than my gratitude, it was a great helmet and undoubtedly saved my life.

I came to a stop and started moving my arms and legs around to see if I had arms and legs left and when I was doing that my friend was, at that point, driving back up the canyon looking for me and he saw me doing that and it gave him the chills, he said.

He thought I was having a death rattle but he was quickly relieved and so was I when I stood up. Much to my amazement I didn't have any broken bones and even though I seemed to be okay I knew I wasn't quite alright.

For one thing I was immensely relieved so of course I was cheerful but I was cheerful beyond reason and my friend and I pushed what was left of my bike off to the side and sort of under a tree. It could still stand up but it didn't look too good. We left it there in hopes that it would still be there when I got back whenever that would be and he got me up on the back of his bike and we took off for the hospital.

He didn't want to wait for an ambulance because he figured when he saw me shaking around like that on the ground that the quicker he could get me there the better.

I remember being profoundly cheerful all the way to the hospital :-) I'm sure a mild concussion had something to do with that and when I got to the hospital my friend made a bit of a scene to get me in there and him having a forceful personality though with a certain amount of gentle persuasion did get me in to see the nurse pretty quickly.

The guy scrubbed my arms off. I remember him telling me after peeling what was left of my shirt off - telling me that it was going to hurt and he had to clean off the "road rash" as they call it and it should of hurt but it didn't. He was scrubbing real hard with alcohol and he said, "Doesn't that hurt?" And I said, "Just stings a little bit" and he said, "You probably got a concussion."

The doctor came in later and confirmed concussion. They took a look at me and decided that I was going to be alright, sent me home. I remember I woke up the next day and I guess I must have been kind of out of it the day before because I could definitely feel my arms and it was a whole lot of ouch going on for the next three days or so but after that I started feeling better.

It was right around that time that my life took a turn towards the spiritual. I'm sure many others who've had near death encounters have had that other road revealed to them.

I often wondered if I hadn't had that crash would I have gone on to do what I had thought I would do then. I was thinking before that time maybe I'll do this, maybe I'll do that but it turned out that I felt a increasing interest after that to read spiritual books and one thing led to another and here I am today.

Just thought you might be interested. Goodlife.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Photo is © B. Maybe it was science...could have been in school - but there was all these pictures of snowflakes.

I'm not sure if they were actual photographs or if they were drawings and they were all these beautiful patterns. You've probably seen such pictures yourself or perhaps had the opportunity to take a quick glance at snowflakes yourself.

So of course the first chance I had - since I was growing up in Minnesota which was plenty cold in the winter and had enough snow as well :-) I looked at my sleeve when it was snowing and sure enough there were those beautiful fantastic crystalline images.

I didn't have the words or the sophistication then but I remember having a very calm good feeling to myself. If I had the words then that I have now I might have said to myself: God loves us - this is a place, a planet that is meant to be of beauty. Here is something natural that is so beautiful it's awe-inspiring.

I didn't have those words of course and before long someone called my name and I think it was my mom calling me in for lunch.

I'm bringing this recollection up not because it is so profound but because I know that there are aspects to life that are so difficult here - I experience some of those myself and yet I feel that ultimately this planet is meant to be about beauty, it's meant to be about kindness and we all experience that at one time or another - and it's meant to be about love.

While we don't have much of that all the time, if we're fortunate we have some of it some of the time and perhaps as time goes on and our hearts and souls become more of our predominant life cycles it might just be about that. Lets hope so.

Goodlife.

Consideration

I've been thinking about the great value in our lives of cows. I know I've mentioned these things before. I also believe that many of us have been reminded of their great and wondrous value in a humorous way by Gary Larson's cartoons which we've all grown to love but there's more and I feel that I want to just say that these beings who give us so much and who demand so little from us could perhaps, when it is the end of their lives, be treated with more kindness and respect.

I know it's not always easy to do this for those who are in the business of processing but I'm just putting it out there that perhaps some people could come up with an idea of how to do this in a way that is more kind and gentle.

You can see that I am concerned about efficiency replacing interactions between all beings. We find this sometimes in communications to us from this or that group and conversely sometimes from us to this or that group.

We are often kind and gentle with the very young and also often with the very old but what about the feelings of those between these ages.

I believe we can move past the limit of efficiency in any attempt to create clarity. I know it's not always easy to be kind, gentle, patient and considerate as much as possible. It may however just be appreciated by us all. I explored the place and settled in Southern California near where my grandparents had once lived in Hollywood.

As a child we had a vacation out there once and so of course I liked to walk around the area a bit. It naturally followed in time that I would seek to work in that general neighborhood of Hollywood while I was exploring other working possibilities. So temporarily I took a job at a movie theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

Of course I never really expected to see any movie stars but as it turned out I did.

I remember that the assistant manager took me aside when I first started working there, he was perhaps just a few years older than me in his late twenties, and he said, "Now look, this is an old movie theatre. It's not fancy. It's no flagship movie theatre but every once in a while well known people in Hollywood will come in here - maybe just order a hot dog and eat it and leave - and we let them do that.

"We don't expect them to buy a ticket just to go to get a hot dog. Our people who work at the ticket booth know and recognize these people and usually they're old-timers.

"Here's what to do when that happens. Don't go gaga when they come in. You're gonna be dazzled but try to keep it at a minimum. These people have worked long and hard for this kind of recognition and they need to have their quiet time, their moments when they can just be a regular person.

"Oh sure, sometimes they might be enjoying the recognition but when they step into this theatre - modest though it may be - we want them to feel like they can be relaxed. So just treat them like you would any other customer. Wait on them, acknowledge their greeting if they give you one. If they don't speak to you then assume that they want their private time."

"Okay," I said both excited and frustrated at the same moment looking forward to seeing "movie stars" and at the same time feeling admonished for something I hadn't done yet.

So sure enough within a month or two in came somebody that I recognized immediately though I had to think a little bit to remember his name. Some of you will know him primarily because he was known for a while as the Maytag Repairman. I'm referring of course to Jesse White but he had a long and elaborate career in show business.

Normally I don't drop names here but I'm using this as an example about something I'll build on later on in this narrative.

So sure enough, one day I was working at the concessions counter and...I don't think the assistant manager was even there. It was a day when he was off but in walked a customer without going to the ticket booth to get a ticket and I was a little surprised.

As he got closer I recognized him immediately. This was Jesse White. He ordered a hot dog and I served it to him while making every effort to remain as indifferent as possible but at some point he caught me glancing at him while he was eating the hot dog right there in the lobby. As it happened there was nobody else there. The movie was playing and all the customers were in watching the movie having no idea that a famous Hollywood movie star was in the lobby at that moment.

As I glanced at him and he caught me he said, "What is it" and I apologized. I said, "I'm sorry Mr. White. I'm new to this job and I haven't seen too many movie stars up close like this. He stopped eating his hot dog for a moment and he said, "You'll get used to it kid" just as easy going as possible putting me at ease right away. He finished his hot dog, smiled a little bit and walked out the door.

I'm mentioning this because recently I read an article about Barack Obama's visit with his family to Hawaii and his experiencing the extremes of being excessively noticed - not really able to take the kids out on a spontaneous visit to the ice cream parlor or better yet as we say here in Hawaii ah - to get some shave ice eh.

Well I feel for the man and in a way I feel for our society. I wish you all could have been there to hear that assistant manager give me that talk about my reaction to famous people. It was short and sweet and I've tried to put down what I can remember from it.

I know that it is the job of the Press to let people know what the policy is of our government but must we really take away the joys of a parent having fun with his children, his wife, his family and all of the events that make parenthood a blessing.

I am not claiming to have any great knowledge about these subjects of family but I am more conscious now of family since I've been here in Hawaii. Family in Hawaii is very major and it is considered something that is not only respected but it is honored.

Hawaii itself - the land itself, I believe, has an energy supporting heart and even kindness. It also supports family perhaps because family often represents heart - I grant not always but often. What I'm trying to say here overall is I think it might be nice given the struggles that happen sometimes with family and raising children to let the Obama's have their time in Hawaii - especially for Barack who grew up here - to rest, to restore and to be fed by the land and the kindness of the people.

That's all I have to say about that now. Goodlife.

My New Christmas Story

Greetings. I've had this in the past when I was living in Colorado when I took my friend to drop off at her friends house. Her foot was injured at the time, I was going to drive away but as she had disappeared from sight I suddenly heard her call out to me - not from where she was but literally right next to me. Just slightly to my left and slightly behind me.

Understand now she was quite a distance away and she was even behind a building and I was in a car with the windows rolled up and the heater on because it was winter eh - but I heard her call out my name strongly so I stopped and I went to investigate and sure enough her friend hadn't been home and she was worried that she was going to have to hobble on back to our place on her own.

When I asked her about it she said that she did not say anything but she was upset and concerned though I heard this in her voice - this call for help.

Well I bring that up because it happened again. The other night I heard - from the same location this time where I work near my desk - I heard just to my left and slightly behind me and as I localize it better now - really just slightly above my head, the same location as before and also a little bit behind me, I heard a dog - a fairly good sized dog - medium to large dog bark suddenly. And so not being able to go there wherever there was I said the basic living prayer.

"I am asking that all those beings who need help especially where that sound came from receive all the help they need now benevolently from all those beings who can help them." That adaptation put in can place the focus where it is needed without actually knowing.

I do not know whether the dog knew they were reaching me or not but it was not my job to inquire of dog helper but to do what I could.

Of course energy came through. These words set the intention you know and that's why they're so precise but ultimately it is the energy and the good heart energy that supports those in need wherever they may be with such a living prayer. I thought you'd get a kick out of hearing about it.

You've seen Lenticular Clouds in the sky haven't you? They're really something. Some people think that they're large ships in the sky and many of them do have an appearance like that (see example above).

Well we don't get clouds like that around here very often but we did have a couple the other day. I remember looking at them. They do tend to stay where they are you know? They don't drift like other clouds. They are where they are and that's where they stay.

So it was sitting there for quite a while and I remember looking at it and saying quietly out loud, "I wonder where they're from?" And almost immediately right underneath that lenticular cloud appeared what I can only describe as cloud Morse code.

There were three dots and a dash in a perfect row. There's no question about it. There were three small dots and a dash and it stayed there for a little while but since it was little clouds, not part of the lenticular cloud, it quickly dissipated and drifted on.

Just for fun I looked it up on a morse code chart and three dots and a dash equal the letter "V." So...what do you think it is? Interesting eh? I'll leave it up to you. That's how it feels to me but others definitely look like they're from the past - maybe even in ancient times in Hawaii - and the faces show up on a regular basis. The clouds identifying their presence by taking the shape.

Do you do that? Do you look up in the sky and see the faces? I'm sure most of you do. It's interesting to note when you see the same faces - I feel that the spirits - not all of course but many of the spirits that have a particular connection to Earth are often in residence in the sky.

Sometimes of course they can be seen in stone, other times in other matter but often - so very often in the sky.

This is something I enjoy seeing, I hope you do too. I feel they are looking out for us and radiating their blessings upon us. Well this was a couple that lived in northern Colorado and I happened to meet one of them at one time.

She told me that she and her husband knew how to hunt and they would go hunting for elk and as I listened to her speaking I realized she wasn't just talking about going out into the forest and hunting as people do in order to put food on the table but she was talking about something else.

She told me that they would prepare and say prayers and cleanse themselves in a spiritual manner before they went to the forest and that they would bring gifts. She didn't elaborate on what the gifts were but she did indicate that sometimes it would be food and sometimes it would be things that they had created with the desire of having the exact elk show up for them that would be acceptable to the community of elk to be a being that would put food on their table and they would ask for that to happen you see.

So sometimes they would bring special things that they had made to help bring that about and they'd go to the forest. They wouldn't hunt the elk as a hunter might normally do tracking and so on but they would go to the same place all the time and they would sit down and wait. Soon - within an hour at most an elk would come along and stand and just wait for them to shoot the elk and take it for their table.

As she finished telling me that it made sense and she said, "...and I want you to understand the difference between eating elk that you might eat hunted in a normal way and elk that you might eat that is hunted in that spiritual fashion - where the elk that comes to you knows that it's going to be shot, knows that it's going to provide food for human beings."I said, "Oh, you can do that?"

She said, "Yes, I have a little stew left that I made from that elk. Would you like to have some" and I said, "Yes, please."

Imagine a beef stew. It was very much like a beef stew only there were a few chunks of elk meat in it. Now I've had some great beef stew in my time and I'm sure you have too but this elk stew was completely different.

There were just a few pieces of the elk in that stew but after I had that, and the total amount I had was probably no greater than what you would find in a 12 ounce coffee cup, and I had nothing else - just that - that's what she served me so that I could see the affects - I felt invigorated. I felt a spiritual energy come over me and I felt uplifted.

I learned something from that experience and I am hopeful that those of you who hunt might also be inspired by that. If you're not doing spiritual hunting now you might look into it. Ask around in your community. I am no expert on this but perhaps there is someone that knows how to do that and I wish you well in your endeavors.

Goodlife.

A Heartwarming Surprise

Years ago I used to housesit for a dear friend of mine in Colorado. Her home, modest though it was, was as she described it, "A sweet little house" and it was very true. There was a lot of spiritual energy around and it felt very good and she was blessed by a certain phenomena.

Her home - while in a bustling community happened to back up to national forest preserve and I remember her saying once - I believe it was the first time I did an extended house-sitting for her - she said, "If you want to have an interesting experience some evening sit here at the dinning room table and just be alert.

"Have a light on but not too bright and just be alert to that window right in front of the table. You can do other things. You can write but just don't get too involved" and I said, "Okay" and I knew that she would give me suggestions like that because there was always more to it.

She was the sort of person who would like to tell somebody something but had noticed over time that sometimes it was better to make suggestions and to allow the future to unfold rather than to say - this will happen and this will happen.

In that way of course, you could be involved in your experience and discover your experience and be engaged in the teaching and the lesson rather than having the lesson laid out for you with prescribed results that you had to look for and then would feel uncomfortable with if it didn't evolve.

So on the basis of her suggestions which were always good that way, I sat at that table one evening and had a light on nearby and had in front of me writing materials to compose either a letter to someone or to write down ideas for articles and books and while I was in mid thought at one point I heard something rustle outside.

There was a very light snow falling so I wasn't sure at first whether it was simply snow sliding off the roof but I waited and sat quietly and pretty soon someone showed up at the window. You might say it was a face at the window, only this face was a beautiful face and had a very large rack of antlers.

It was a beautiful deer and the deer stopped and noticed me and looked in and as deer do when they felt safe even though there was really just a few feet - maybe a total of five feet between us but there was that wall that was a barrier - the deer felt safe and nodded at me and I nodded back and the deer walked on and I enjoyed that.

It was like - oh, that's what was going to happen. My friend wanted me to know that this is the path that deer take.

She told me sometime before that the deer often would come down out of the forest and walk past her house but she didn't say they would walk right past that window - right next to the house. And they would walk on to an old orchard that was sort of an extended portion of her yard and there was quite a few trees left from the old orchard. They would nibble on the apples that had either fallen on the ground or reach up a bit as far as they could and get the ones that were still left on the trees.

She made certain that the trees would be left for them and she would often leave lots and lots of apples on the trees so that the deer had something that they could live on and a nice snack and treat for the wintertime. You probably already know this but deer do love apples and that was a sweet thing that she did for them.

Well, as my time went on during that house-sitting and I realized the deer would walk right by the window I had that experience many times with the deer looking in the window and nodding like that.

If you've never been really up close and personal with deer they really can be the sweetest beings. They do have such great hearts. I used to have a friend who referred to deer as the king of the animals and this is not because deer had some power over others but rather because they have great heart. They have great compassion not only for their own kind but for others and also because they are prepared to make sacrifices not only to preserve their own families and their own communities but sometimes so that human beings might live and thrive.

Those of you who are hunters, especially spiritual hunters, and know how to hunt and offer gifts to the forest and gifts for the continuation of a noble species know exactly what I'm talking about. Another time maybe I'll tell you about someone I knew in Colorado who was a spiritual hunter.

Goodlife.

"Giant"

I remember - many years ago I had a friend when I was living in New Mexico who started calling me "Giant" - really out of a clear blue sky. She had never called me that before but she started calling me that.

One day we were going for a walk out on this dirt road - of which there were many then where I was living and we talked about this and that and at one point I asked her, "How come you started calling me giant?" She was quiet for a long time and then she said, "Well you know...once I saw you - you were really really tall. I mean taller than you normally are."

I didn't know what to say because physically speaking she was a lot shorter than I was and so there was another long pause and I said, " You mean taller than I normally am?" She said, "Oh yes - very much so" and I said, "Oh."

Well I realize that's not much of a story but when you couple it with this and this then you have something to think about.

It's a curious thing that seems to be displayed by me sometimes. Still...it reminded me of my own adventure that I had completely forgotten.

Once when I was a youngster I remember walking the distance, oh maybe it was about half a mile, from my house to the theatre that we would go to as kids. They always had a great feature for us on Saturday - usually two shoot-'em-up action movies or stories about animals or horses and cartoons and also a serial - you remember those - serials?

I remember this one was a particularly fun day. It was wintertime and coming out of the theatre and starting for home with my friend another kid that I didn't know was mad at me for no reason that I can remember and charged at me.

Perhaps from the excitement of the movies I demonstrated marshal arts which I didn't know then at all and don't know much more about now. The next thing I knew this youngster, wearing a snowsuit I think or something that looked like it, was flying over my hip and sailing along the ice until he bumped up into a car parked in a driveway.

He wasn't hurt and he got up and ran over to me and I thought we were going to have to duke it out but he ran over to me and said, "How did you do that? I want to learn how to do that" and I suppressed a comment that I want to learn how to do that too and we had kind of a brief friendship there. He took it well I'd have to say.

Anyway, I was reminded of this by reading about Louis' unexpected adventure on his porch as a youngster. Just thought I'd pass that on to you. It was a funny and unexpected adventure for me as well.

Goodlife.

Lightning And Me

I recall when I was young, a teenager I believe, I accompanied my Father on a road trip he was making. This was rare for me to have the opportunity to go out with my Father who, at this time of his life, was going out and going on these road trips to do various sales of merchandise he had and deliver sometimes, samples to the stores so they could decide whether to order this or that or how much.

I recall once we were driving through Iowa and the area we drove into had just had one of the biggest rainstorms they'd ever had. It was 13 inches of rain - just all came down in one steady amount and while the bulk of the storm had cleared out there was still some thunderstorms in the area.

My Father was a very careful driver and he was driving very slowly and there were very few people on that highway, not surprisingly. It was a simple road - two lane blacktop and we suddenly found ourselves in a thunderstorm.

Lightning was crashing all around. I noted a lightning bolt crashing nearby and it was very loud thunder of course but then as the lightning started hitting closer to us something unusual happened and that's that I couldn't hear the thunder. I think it has something to do with distance and timing but not being a student of science I couldn't offer that explanation.

I recall at the time thinking that I thought I saw something in the lightning - I wonder if it would strike closer and I can see for sure - and almost instantaneously another bolt of lightning struck about 6 feet away from the car on my side and I had a chance to see clearly - yes - there were colors in the lightning. Just like colors in a rainbow only more distinct and more intense.

It is a curious thing that. I've had a lot of unusual encounters with lightning in my life. Later on in life I saw lightning that had no colors and while the storm was all around, this happening in Arizona, this form of lightning had no thunder and went on for some time. It looked just like lightning but it was a pale white light.

Another time also in the Southwest, this time in New Mexico, lightning struck very close to me - so close that my hair sizzled a bit and I was not harmed otherwise.

I do not want to suggest I'm recommending these experiences for they were both frightening and also interesting and yes exciting at the same time but overall after the experience I was glad it was over.

I'm mentioning this to you because of my ofttime experience and influence with the weather which I have been taught a great deal about from my teachers and have learned how to work benevolently with Mother Earth's elements, we call weather, which for her are simply parts of her physical personality.

Goodlife.

Guides And Teachers

On an occasion with a friend once, I remember we traveled spontaneously to one of The Nations. It was maybe a hundred, maybe a hundred and fifty miles from our home.

We felt drawn there and we went almost on a whim. We got there and it was late afternoon. It was up on one of the mesas.

We realized that whatever we were going to do there, we weren't going to have time to get back so we would have to stay overnight. We went to a lodge that was there and while they had rooms for rent, not many - just a few, they didn't have space for us but they were kind enough to suggest that if we wanted to stay nearby, which is something that is a plus when you're camping out in the "middle of nowhere" that we could use their side lot and it would have enough light and activity so there would be no danger. We thanked very much and went to put up our tent there.

I remember my friend felt strongly that it would be good to put the tent up under some bushes as she felt that it would provide an extra measure of shelter. However 2 dogs had strolled up very quietly, very gentle dogs, and I had the impression that that wasn't what they were suggesting.

I remember looking at the dogs, one then the other, and one had sort of laid its face on the instructions for putting up the tent - as it was a new tent and we hadn't ever put it together - so it was difficult to see the instructions. My impression of course was that - stop, is what the dog was saying very gently.

I looked at the other dog and the dog looked at me and promptly sat down and I knew that that dog was saying - this is where to put the tent.

I mentioned it to my friend and she said - no no, I've camped a lot before and I know best and so I said okay.

She started putting up the tent and she suddenly realized there was a large colony of ants there. She stepped back and brushed herself off and gathered up the tent materials and walked back and she looked at the dogs and smiled and understood that they were part of the welcoming committee. And being a person who really loved dogs I think she kind of got a kick out of it and took it good-naturedly.

Well - we put the tent up there in the exact spot they recommended and we not only had a nice restful nights sleep but the dogs stayed with us. I had the feeling they were protecting us.

The one that had sat down and showed us the space lingered for a while and the other one very politely stayed on the outside of the tent but where I was, rolled up against me - against the tent. So I had my friend on one side and my dog friend on the other side - all in all a good night.

In the morning dog friend was gone. They had never barked, never made a sound but had moved off back to their home and left us to greet the morning.

We folded up the tent, found the special place we had been drawn to and did a special prayer blessing in the most benevolent way we knew how. We drove home and what I remember to this day is how wonderful the experience was with our dog guides and teachers. These are truly wonderful beings.

Goodlife.

Some Of The Best Advice I ever Had

Many years ago I was driving, up north I think from Southern California, and it was late. I was trying to get to get to a town that was just a little bit past my capability for driving that day so I had picked up the speed a little bit.

I was going maybe 10 miles an hour over the speed limit and all of a sudden I noticed the red lights flashing behind me - I hadn't seen the police car coming up behind me.

I pulled over and stopped and didn't know exactly what to do but the next moment the sheriff had gotten out of the car and had come up to my window. I rolled down the window and he said, "Step back here for a minute." So I rolled up the window, got out and got in beside him in the front seat. He said, "Lets go."

I didn't know where we were going - I was worried that I was getting arrested but he never said anything like that. He drove down the highway for a bit - quiet - and then he gave me a gentle lecture about speeding and why it wasn't a good idea and he spoke in such a quiet gentle way I really listened to him - I paid attention.

After we had driven for quite a ways he drove across a part of the median, it was a divided highway, and we started heading back in the general direction of where my car was - not driving very fast. He was talking to me and all the while he was looking around the way a good police officer does but what he was saying didn't have anything to do with why he had pulled me over or at least, as far as I knew.

He asked me what I wanted to do with my life and at that time I had some interest in joining the police department in the town in which I lived. He listened to me and he said, "You know, I'm not sure if that's for you." I can't explain how he - he just said that.

He paused for a while and he said, "You know, the secret of life is to find something you like doing. Do it well and maybe it turns into a profession - see. Find out something that you're good at and then make sure that that becomes part of your job or is your job. Then find a good woman, settle down and have a good life."

We drove on for a while and I have to say initially I felt like maybe I was still interested in being a police officer because this person was such a stand-up guy but I brought it up again and he said, "No, I can't explain it to you but I just know that's not for you - that's not your life."

He said, "I have a way of knowing these things and I know that you haven't found your life yet. You haven't found your career and you haven't found the woman you're going to live with - but you will. Just stay with it."

We drove on past my car, he talked to me a little more - talking to me the way a good uncle or grandfather would. Then he swung back around behind my car and stopped and I didn't know what to do and he said, "That's all, you can go now. Slow down."

I got out of the car and walked back to my car and I did slow down. It didn't take that much longer to get to where I was going - maybe an extra 5 minutes. It's really funny - you think when you're going 10 miles an hour or even 15 miles an hour, as some folks do, over the speed limit you're going to get there faster.

I think that that sheriff wanted me to get to my life and wanted me to slow down because he felt I was going to do something important someday. I've tried to live up to his expectations.

Goodlife to you all.

Greetings

Greetings, I'm going to use this blog for stories associated with my travels and my experiences - pretty much exclusively.
